Wonderful Sunday

Today was just a beautiful Spring day!  Our sky was blue, temperature was warm, but not humid, and no pollen yet!  Jason was supposed to clean out the garage but instead he picked up some fried chicken and potato salad and we all walked to the park.  We went yesterday as well, and Jason carried Lily in the baby Bjorn.  Today we decided to use a stroller that a friend lent me.  We planned on Lily napping since she didn't take a morning nap at church but she was wide awake and just enjoying the outside.  We found a nice spot at the park and just enjoyed the food, the weather, and looking up at the sky.  Here's a few shots of Lily.  She was so good, which was surprising since she had to be just pooped!

Check out those feet.  She has the most expressive feet!  When she's happy, they move one way.  When she is grumpy, they are just kicking and fidgeting.  These are the chill feet.

She really loves chewing things.  Any day a tooth should pop through!

Sleepy girl

Lily is still being woken up between 10:00 pm and 11:00 pm for a "dreamfeed."  Basically, we get her up, change her diaper, feed her, and put her back to bed until she wakes up at 8 am.  She was so sleepy the other night and so cute that I had to take some pictures.

Such a cutie!  Look at the size of those mitts.  Her little legs and arms are getting so pudgy.  Its great!  But her belly is still skinny.  Hopefully that will fill out more too!

The BEST Birthday Present EVER!

So today, on my 31st birthday, I was on the phone with Lily's pediatrician.  She has a rash and I wasn't sure if it was from drooling or a reaction from some food.  I was leaving a voice mail and Lily said "Mama."  Jason even heard it!  I know this is early - the child is seven months - but in my heart I'll always know she knows my name.

Last Monday, Lily finally rolled over on her own.  She did it three times in a row.  And for the rest of the week... nothing.  We've been working with her and this is what we got:

And now for the kiss:

Eva's Birthday

Lily went to her very first birthday party- one of her best friend's Eva Wren!  It was a gorgeous tea party.  We felt even more special since it was all family and us!  Here is the beautiful Eva, sitting on her daddy's lap, and the cake her mom and aunt made. I had no idea my friend Jessica was so talented and baking.

Lily got all dressed up, including a little petticoat.  She is such a cutie!

And here she is with her mom and dad, who I must say, looked very nice in his tea clothes.

The house we had the party at was 200 years old.  The front yard has the coolest tree I have EVER seen.  Someone said they think it is a hemlock?

Look at the way the branch goes into the ground and back out.  Amazing!

We had a great time, and Lily was a very good guest, even though she only had a 30 minute nap that morning.  She didn't cry and call any extra attention to herself.  She is getting so big!  I got to get her up from her nap now though.  She is thumping her legs onto the mattress, telling me she is awake.  Sounds like an elephant stomping around upstairs or a car door slamming outside.  Seriously, it took me a few days to realize what that sound was!

Gardening

We are starting a garden this year.  Well, we built it two years ago but I didn't do anything with it last year so it got really weedy.  So while I was weeding it, I brought Lily outside to enjoy the beautiful weather.  She really enjoyed hearing herself talk.  Channelling her inner beast as we call it.  Not a huge fan of the lifting of the skirt at the end... oh well!
