First feeding

About a week ago, we gave Lily rice cereal for the first time.

She is doing better keeping the food in her mouth, although that tongue of hers is constantly in the way.  She has Jason's tongue for sure; we compared and she has a cleft tongue (or a butt tongue) and so does Jay.  I have no cleft in mine.  At least its not a forked tongue!  But she really enjoys eating.  Today she was laughing and squealing while I was feeding her.  Next, I think we are going to try butternut squash.  I made a bunch of squash and carrots so we'll see which we start with.  I'm ready to give her apples though.  From what I understand, they help "move things along" if you know what I mean.

I just can't believe my baby is growing up!  But she is so much more fun now than she has been before.  This is a great age - she loves to play and talk, but doesn't roll or run.  I'm totally enjoying this because all too soon it will be over and onto something new!
